  How to Get to Otra Ola?  

From Guayaquil

From the Guayaquil airport, you can get a taxi to take you to the bus terminal (Terminal Terreste).

  • Time: 4 – 5 minutes

  • Price: $2 USD (approx.)

 

Once at the bus terminal in Guayaquil you have to find the CLP (Cooperativa de Transporte Libertad Peninsular), ask for the buses that go to Olon. Unfortunately, you cannot book the bus in advance.
 

Bus Departure Times: 5:00, 6:00, 9:00, 13:00, 15:00 and 16:30 (please note times may change periodically)

  • Time: 3 hours

  • Price: $6 USD

 

Olon - Ayampe 

If you reach Olon BEFORE 6pm - you can catch a local bus on the company Manglaralto. Tell the bus driver to let you off in Ayampe infront of the police station (estacion de la policia). From there, follow the road that goes behind the police station. There are signs directing you from there.

If you reach Olon AFTER 6pm - there are many taxis, you should pay about $10-15 USD.

**Follow these directions if arriving into Guayaquil after 16:30**

Catch a bus at the same terminal (as above) in Guayaquil to Santa Elena and then another bus from Santa Elena to Puerto Lopez. Buses leave from Santa Elena to Puerto Lopez every 30 minutes until 21:00 (approx.)

Direct transportation from Guayaquil

You can take a taxi from the airport and the cost should be about $100 - $120 USD.
We can arrange rides from the airport as well as from Olon, please contact us.

 

From Quito

Take a bus to Puerto Lopez, there are many companies offering buses at numerous times a day but we recommend Reina del Camino.

 

Puerto Lopez - Ayampe

Take the local bus Manglaralto to Ayampe. Tell the bus driver to let you off in Ayampe infront of the police station (estacion de la policia). From there, follow the road that goes behind the police station. There are signs directing you from here.

A taxi ride from Puerto Lopez is $7-10USD and a Motorcycle taxi is $5-7USD depending on day or night.

 

From Manta

If you are flying into Manta there are numerous buses to Puerto Lopez. Once in Puerto Lopez, follow directions above.

A taxi to Ayampe is around $50USD from Manta.
